Lower Secondary Programme

MPA Lower Secondary Programme is a 3-year course of study, starting from Year 7 and ending in Year 9. Students are exposed to a wide range of subjects at the lower secondary level with a special attention to:

  • Help them make informed choices on their subjects at upper secondary level and beyond
  • Prepare them to cope with these subjects at upper secondary level.

The qualification subjects offered in this Lower Secondary Programme are the same as in the Primary Programme, except the students having to study RSHE (Relationship, Sex and Health Education) instead of PSHE. At the end of Year 9, the learner will sit for the Pearson Edexcel International Lower Secondary Examination. Students can take up to 4 subjects in this iLS Exam.

Students moving from primary to lower secondary school are entering a new phase of life as this programme is a transition to the lower secondary education and is a bridging programme between the Primary Programme and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
